| Turns out folks are getting downright lazy
It's a Brit term, a new one, but it applies globally, and it's funny-sounding, as all good internet catch terms ought to be: wilf. Wilf is a verb, and those who do it are wilfers. It may sound a bit nasty, perhaps a little predatory, but it actually refers to a penchant for wasting time online. Wilf is an acronym for What Was I Looking For? But as cute as the term sounds, and as much as it may suggest simple procrastination, wilfing is actually a serious issue: an increasing lack of desire by users to ferret through lots of information to find what they're looking for online. They quickly lose focus and soon they're in wilfing mode. A new study reveals that Brits now wilf away two full days a month aimlessly surfing the web when they should be working or studying.

Former Collierville Building Official Files Suit Seeking Old Job
ON AGAIN: First Baptist Church in Collierville at 830 New Byhalia Road is in the midst of a major expansion project. The town's former top building official, Lynn Hicks, was fired shortly after issuing a "stop work order" at the site several weeks ago. -- PHOTO BY ANDY MEEK Lynn Hicks, Collierville's top building official before he was sacked last month over a myriad of performance-related issues, has filed a lawsuit in Shelby County Chancery Court. The suit filed by the former head of Collierville's building codes department is an application for writ of certiorari, which, if granted, would reverse the decision that led to Hicks' being fired. Clarity of lakes a sad casualty of bulldozers
Once blessed by the sound of silence, it now comes with a looping soundtrack of traffic, a steady background din that reminds you the beauty is now a façade. How do you quantify losses like that on the casualty list? And now let me tell you about another loss, one you might never notice even if you were sitting here with me on Lake Butler. I am looking out at a classic, idyllic Florida lake setting. The sky is blue, the sun and the cool air are in wonderful balance and the cypress trees -- Florida's most beautiful sculptures -- stand guard around the perimeter. There are many things I can see. There also is one thing I cannot even though it is only 15 feet away. It is the bottom of the lake. There was a time when Lake Butler looked like the world's biggest gin and tonic.
